VIDEO: Gayantha speak of govt’s sprat and seer promises

Back then the government promised that once three quarter of the Northern Sea is liberated the public will be able to eat seer fish for the money they spent on sprats. But now even though two years have past since the end of the war people are eating sprats at the price they previously spent to eat seer fish, says Gayantha Karunathilaka.

Speaking during a press conference today the UNP Spokesperson mention the president’s speech at the 63rd Independence Day celebration in which he had said that on behalf of the future generation difficult choices will have to be made instead of popular choices.

The people of the country also had to make difficult choices to end the 30 year war. The government has failed to provide relief to the masses by making popular choices after the war, the Parliamentarian expressed.

Even though the only popular decision the public expected after the war was the price decrease of goods and commodities, the government has even failed to accomplish that, Gayantha accused.

The reason the public has been burdened with such high cost of living is because of the government’s wastage, corruption, dishonesty, irregularities and the world largest cabinet of ministers that can’t be maintained.
