KIK Cola sponsors Mighty Mini KIK Cola Pannala Challenge 2011

The Mighty Mini Club of Sri Lanka held the Mighty Mini KIK Cola Pannala Challenge 2011 at the Pannala Racing Circuit recently, a very successful race event despite the inclement weather.

 

 

The 10 race event, which featured a total of 65 mini’s competing, a record for Motor Sports in Sri Lanka for the highest number of entries for one make of car, was sponsored by Sri Lanka’s latest soft drink KIK Cola.

 

 

The President of the Mighty Mini Club, Mr. David Todd said that the Committee of the Mighty Mini Club was very pleased to be associated with an esteemed organization of the caliber of  Elephant House, and its latest soft drink - namely KIK Cola, as the Principal sponsor of the Mighty Mini KIK Cola Pannala Challenge. “We hope that we could foster and build this relationship in our future events so that it would be beneficial to both organizations,” he added.

 

 

Mr. Chandima Perera, Head of Beverages - Vice President JKH said, “We are very proud to have been a part of the Mighty Mini Pannala Challenge 2011 which saw some fantastic racing by Mini enthusiasts. It was truly inspiring to see Mini owners travelling from all parts of the country to participate in this event.”

 

 

In racing results the Standard Mini 850cc category saw Janath Thilakasiri racing to victory, while the Standard Mini 1000cc was won by Upali Perera. The Ladies Standard Mini upto 1275cc race was won by Shehara Bimali, while the Mini 1000cc Modified race was won by Praveen Madugalle. In other results the Mini Sevens category was won by Lakmal Wijeratne while the Standard Mini 1275cc category was won by Shazni Irshan. In the Standard Moke 1275cc category Lal Jayatissa drove away with top honours while in the Modified Mini 1275cc category Hafiz Carder was adjudged the winner. The SL-A Mini 1050cc category was won by Lakmal De Silva.

 

 

The Mighty Mini Club of Sri Lanka was founded on 7th July 1995 by a group of Mini enthusiasts to enable Mini lovers to meet socially and make the most of their Minis and today has a membership of over 250. The Club organizes several events every year including a Concourse d Elegance, a weekend outing, a one-day rally, an autocross and a Club race-day in a year.
