VIDEO: Police under govt. rule - Karu

When the 17th Amendment was destroyed and the independent police commission was done away with, Lankan policemen were brought under government rule, UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya said at  a press conference today.


He also reminded the Police especially during to upcoming election period to remember that they are supposed to serve the people and not the politicians.

 

Certain independent policemen have been transferred, and we have informed the Elections Commissioner of it, Jayasuriya added.
