Indian media had reported yesterday that the ferry service between India and Sri Lanka will commence today (February 11). However, the Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Rohitha Abeygunawardana clarifies that the ferry service will only begin in the second week of March.

The private ferry service between India and Sri Lanka had been stopped for two years due to the war in Sri Lanka. It is scheduled to resume between Colombo and Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
