Vehicular movement remains suspended on Somawathiya–Sungavila road

Vehicular movement along the Somawathiya–Sungavila main road continues to be suspended following flooding caused by the overflow of the Mahaweli River.

An area between 35 and 37 kilometers from the Diggala area has been inundated, with water levels reaching approximately two and a half feet.

Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes when visiting the Somawathiya sacred site.
