The Police Media Division has issued a notice regarding the procedure for obtaining police clearance certificates.

The notice highlights that citizens frequently inquire about obtaining police clearance reports for various purposes. To streamline the process, authorities have made continuous updates and guidance available, police stated.

Applicants can now request police clearance certificates online through the E-Service portal on the Sri Lanka Police official website at www.police.lk. By selecting “Clearance Certificates” under the portal, users can complete the application form and submit their request electronically.

For Sri Lankans living abroad, a fee of Rs. 5,100 must be paid to process the clearance certificate. Once the payment is confirmed, applicants can expect to receive their police clearance report within approximately 14 days, according to the notice.

The move is part of the Sri Lanka Police’s efforts to simplify access to essential documentation while ensuring transparency and convenience for both domestic and overseas applicants, the statement added.
