14 arrested in four-hour anti-drug operation in Mount Lavinia

At least 14 individuals have been arrested during a special operation conducted in the Badowita areas 1, 2, and 3 within the Mount Lavinia Police Division. The operation was conducted jointly by the Mount Lavinia Division, the Criminal Investigation Department and the Sri Lanka Navy.

During the raid, police seized 2,830 mg of heroin, 3,890 mg of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 6,000 mg of cannabis and 10 narcotic pills.

Among the 14 individuals arrested, nine were wanted on outstanding warrants, police noted.

Police stated that the special operation was launched to identify organized criminals, major drug traffickers, wanted suspects and individuals from outstation areas who had arrived and were staying in the area.
