If state property is provided to any political party for election propaganda it is necessary that a formal fee be charged from that party, the Elections Commissioner has advised the heads of government institutions.

The relevant properties have to be issued in the order of the requests received by political parties, the Elections Commissioner Dayananda Disanayake has informed through a circular.

The circular also notes that if state property is requested for a certain election related affair and the request is rejected the reason for doing so has to be documented and presented.

Providing state property to any party for election propaganda without charging a fee will be considered as misuse of state property and resources, the Commissioner further affirmed.
