All opposition candidates who lost the election should go bang their heads on a rock instead of bashing coconuts at temples, says Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervyn Silva.

If Ranil Wickramasinghe along with the United National Party starts bashing coconuts throughout 19 years, coconuts will have to be imported within those 19 years, he expressed during a function held at Kiribathgoda today (March 21).

The Minister made these statements pointing out an article in a newspaper today which read that defeated Local Government candidates of the UNP are to bash coconuts at the Kataragama Temple.

Stop bashing coconuts in temples immediately as their still is a coconut shortage, Mervyn Silva requested.

In addition the Minister also stated that, under the guidance of the President and under the leadership of Basil Rajapaksa the UPFA was able to win all Pradeshiya Sabha that the wasn’t possible during the reign of Bandaranayake family members.

“I bow down and salute the people of the Gampaha District for that.” he further emphasized.
