Special operation to nab fake doctors

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena has advised authorities to implement a special process in order to apprehend individual that deceive people by posing as doctors or as involved in the medical profession.


Information has been revealed that there are around 7,000 fake doctors within the country, states the Ministry of Health and explains that, often the situation of patients worsen due to receiving treatment from such false medics.


Raids carried out to apprehend such impersonators should involve Provincial Health Directors and Regional Directors of Health Services, the Minister of Health has advised.
