The legendary Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas, who was neglected by selectors in Sri Lanka World Cup squad, is planning to retire from one day internationals, The Sports Encounter reported today.
Chaminda Vaas speaking exclusively to The Sports Encounter had said, “I was very disappointed to be left out from the World Cup squad as selectors told me to play in the domestic matches and I did exactly the same. But the life goes on and I am happy that my teammates are doing well in the tournament.”
On talking about his future plans Vaas had said, “I am leaving to play county cricket in England on April 4 and will play county cricket as long as I am fit. I may go for coaching role as well but it depends mainly on the opportunity.”
Vaas termed Sri Lanka favourites for the World Cup and said, “Sri Lanka are the favourites for the title but Pakistan and India are also favourites as both countries are playing good cricket.”
