The police have failed to follow up on complaints made by MP C. Yogeswaran on death threats issued against him by the Eastern Province Chief Minister Shivaneshathurai Chandrakanthan, the aggrieved MP told Ada Derana.

He stated that yesterday (March 26) was six days since he had made the complaint to the Kaththankudi Police while no statement had yet been taken from the other party. However, the Kaluwanchikudy Police had questioned the MP about the relationship between him and the Chief Minister.

Yogeswaran claimed that on March 20 after an event in Kaluwanchikudy, the Chief Minister had stop in front of the MP’s vehicle and had threateningly gestured with his hand that the MP will be shot while also alleging that his office in Mamangamy was attacked by the Minister’s supporters.

He also claimed that Minister Chandrakanthan had ties with the LTTE and had been involved in several murders and abductions.
