The High Commissioner for New Zealand in Delhi will represent the New Zealand Prime Minister at the cricket World Cup semifinal between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Director General President’s Media and Spokesman Bandula Jayasekara told Ada Derana a short while ago.

Jayasekara added that the Premier said he was delighted to receive the invitation but due to time constraints after his recent return to Wellington from the Provinces prevented him from accepting the invitation.

Yesterday Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa invited New Zealand Premier John Key to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final between Sri Lanka and New Zealand scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, March 29.
