Mahela steps down from Vice Captaincy

Mahela Jayawardena has stepped down from the Vice Captaincy of the Sri Lankan team, Nishantha Ranathunga Secretary, Sri Lanka Cricket told Ada Derana today. He added that Mahela had initially agreed to take up the position only until the World Cup.

 

In his letter Mahela has stated that he did not intend to continue holding the position.

 

Yesteday Ada Derana reported that Kumar Sangakkara had handed in his resignation from the Sri Lanka Cricket Captaincy
