The Internal Trade Ministry when questioned regarding the inaccessibility of the site www.sltime.org  told Ada Derana that this was due to severe lightning experienced yesterday which had adversely affected the functioning of the website.

The ministry further stated that measures were underway to rectify the situation and that the site would be accessible to the public within a few hours.

The standard time of Sri Lanka was officially declared by the President yesterday while the government information department had announced that it can be obtained from the website www.sltime.org.
