4 deaths from accidents during New Year

The number of deaths from accidents occurred during the New Year holidays has risen to 04, said the Director of Accident Ward of Colombo National Hospital, Dr. Prasad Ariyawansa. According to him 411 persons had received treatment from the hospital’s accident ward on April 13 and 14.


259 individuals, involved in accidents were warded in the hospital while 110 had been injured as a result of domestic accidents, he pointed out.


However the number of fire works related accidents have reduced considerably, Dr. Ariyawansa mentioned.
