Police have arrested a Sri Lankan woman for stealing expensive jewelry from shops in Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said the arrest came following a call by the owner of a jewelry shop in Hawalli to the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry.

It has been reported the owner accused the woman of stealing but she denied the charge. However, when police arrived at the shop, they requested to see the CCTV film. The recording showed the woman hiding a piece of jewelry in her dress in a sensitive place.

A police source said the woman wore sexy clothes and requested salesmen to show valuable items and somehow managed to distract the salesmen and stole the goods.

During interrogation she admitted to committing 12 thefts. She has been referred to the concerned authorities and the victims have been summoned to identify her from a legal lineup and identify the stolen goods.
