I was surprised by the language used in the UN Expert panel report and the baseless allegations on the part of Sri Lanka, the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Vladimir Mikhaylov said today, the Government Info. Department reports.
The Ambassador in an interview agreed with the view expressed by External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris recently that report in general is counterproductive because in that the report, for example, have used definitions such as ‘Tamil and Sinhala Peoples of Sri Lanka’, meaning that there are two different(types of) people living in Sri Lanka.
To describe LTTE as the most disciplined and nationalist militant group, it is very strange to describe not as a terrorist organization which it was recognized by many governments all over the world. To describe it just as the most disciplined organization is very strange, Mikhaylov adds.
