Preparing of the Darusman Report is in breach of the country’s constitution as well as the Charter of the United Nations, says the Bar Association of Sri Lanka. We had even opposed when preparing of such a report had been proposed, Secretary of the association Mahinda Lokuge said.

He announced that the Bar Association had unanimously decided to oppose the report today (May 07) as it is not legally valid.

Speaking at a press conference today the senior attorney mentioned that a proposal prepared by the association, condemning the UN Expert Panel report, will be presented to the President, party leaders, ambassadors as well as to the UN Secretary General.
