The UNP requests the government to organize the elections for all the postponed Local Government bodies on the same day. “If the government holds a majority power, why don’t they hold elections for all LG bodies on one day?” Tissa Attanayake questions.

Speaking during a press briefing in Colombo today (May 10) he stated that even though the verdict on the court cases concerning several Local Government institutions is scheduled to be delivered on May 12, various issues will surface afterwards.

Problems may rise regarding the validity of the nomination papers, submitted in order to contest in the election, expressed Attanayake, the General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP).
