Ban still determining what his steps would be regarding report – Spokesman

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon is still determining what his own steps will be in terms of reviewing follow-up to the reports, Farhan Haq, Acting Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General said. He added that once a decision is taken in this regard It would be announced.

 


Regarding the Sri Lankan Government’s statement that it will not respond to the UN report but rather send a letter to the UN Chief briefing him about the Humanitarian situation in the North the Haq said that, “As far as we are concerned, the Government has said that it will provide carefully considered views, and we will be looking at those whenever they come in.  And we’ll see precisely what it is that they provide.”
