Another child dies after consuming soft drink

A school child from Karandeniya, Walivitiya has died after consuming a soft drink, the child’s parents claim, adding another death to a growing number of poisoning cases surrounding the consumption of these drinks.

 

The child’s parents claim that following the consumption of the drink, the child had fallen violently ill and had died while being rushed to hospital.

 

The student’s body was taken to the Galle Karapitya Hospital for further tests while the Alpitiya and Agaliya Public Health Inspectors are also conducting investigations into the incident.
