Higher Education Minister SB Dissaanayake is acting as if the country’s university system is his private property, the JVP Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake accused.

Speaking at a press conference at party headquarters in Battaramulla today (22) he called the SB Dissaanayake a ‘persecutor’ and not a Higher Education Minister stating that the Minister has currently taken measures to herd university students into camps.

It still hasn’t been announced whether the institutions providing the training to university student comes under the University Grants Commission (UGC) or Education Ministry or the Defence Ministry, he expressed.

“The parents of these students and the entire country have to be informed of this immediately.”

Anura Kumara further pointed out that various issues will surface through this training program in camps, which he claims will badly affect the cultures and traditions of Tamil and Muslim students.
