The present government has continuously worked against the Muslim community in the country, UNP MP Kabeer Hasheem stated today (May 25) at a press conference in Colombo.

Speaking further, MP Hasheem said that the government had made no effort to hold talks with the Muslim leaders of the country despite having several discussions with the Tamil Leaders adding that the Muslim leadership within the government were not representing the people and were only tending to their personal needs.

It is unfortunate that the Muslim Congress too has been silent regarding these issues, he added.

He also stated that the Muslim students, who attended the government leadership training programme for University students, were discriminated against.
