Arpico introduces first ever portable “Green Gas Unit” in Sri Lanka

Arpico Plastishells Ltd, forging ahead in organic and liquid Waste Management, has introduced a Green Gas Unit in Sri Lanka providing households, hotels, restaurants, manufacturing plants, Large Scale businesses and SMEs to produce Bio Gas through organic waste, - an islands first a company spokesperson said.


Available in 1000ltrs and 5000ltrs units, it is estimated a total 1-7 hrs of gas could be generated and stored with minimum effort in these new “Green Gas Units” producing vistas for renewable energy for all citizens in the country. Organic waste is stored in the unit to produce the Green Gas, and users would additionally benefit from the liquid compost, which is a by-product of the system which can be used for agricultural and gardening purposes. The Arpico Green Gas Units are made out of hard plastic, with ease of mobility.  The volume of green gas formed will be determined according to the volume of waste used for the transition, which is completely safe.


Mr. Sunil Liyanage, Managing Director - Arpico Plastishells Ltd. reiterating Richard Peiris Co. PLC commitment for a sustainable environment stated, “As a result of the stringent research and development by our R&D team, we were able to identify an opportunity, which helps both our consumers as well as the environment. The concept of green gas production was acknowledged by Sri Lanka many years ago and also used in our neighboring country, India, and many other developed European nations all around the world. Yet we couldn’t develop a simple, cost effective and efficient unit in producing bio gas. Our Arpico green gas unit is simple and user friendly. The Arpico Green Gas Unit, a patent product, is now available for our consumers to experience and reap benefits”.


Mr. Derrick Perera, Senior Brand Manager - Arpico Plastishells Ltd. reiterating the commitment for a greener environment, stated, “The advantages using our Green Gas Units are threefold. This product eliminates the Solid / liquid Organic Waste, which are generated through our households, and businesses of all sizes. While producing Green Gas, this unit produces active liquid compost which could be used in home gardening and organic cultivation. Green Gas results in a greener energy.
