The flood situation, which had affected several parts of the country, is improving as flood water is presently receding, the Disaster Management Center says.

According to its Assistant Director, Pradeep Kodippili relief efforts for the flood-victims are still in progress.

He pointed out that a decrease in the number of relief camps has also been reported.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology informs that Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces could expect sporadic rain and strong winds today (May 31).
