CHENNAI: Tamil actress Vijayalakshmi lodged a complaint on Wednesday with the city police commissioner JK Tripathy leveling allegations of exploitation against director and Naam Tamilar Iyakkam chief coordinator Seeman.
In her four-page complaint drafted in English, she has discussed the relationship between Seeman and her. According to police sources, Vijayalakshmi has said that she knew Seeman personally as a director and a well known friend.
“The two have been meeting regularly for the last three years. Since he refused to marry her, Vijayalakshmi has now approached the police commissioner to take legal action against Seeman,” a police officer said.
Vijayalakshmi has acted in many movies including Friends’ and also in television mega-serials. She came with her counsels to the commissioner’s office and submitted the petition at 2.30 pm.
The petition was immediately forwarded to the T Nagar deputy commissioner of police S Thirunavukarasu for further investigation. Based on the complaint, police personnel have summoned Vijayalakshmi for questioning. She has asked police officials to conduct the inquiry discreetly to avoid the glare of media publicity. “She will probably be asked to appear before the T Nagar deputy commissioner of police to give a detailed statement about the sequence of incidents. We will ask her to show relevant documents and photographs to confirm her relationship with Seeman. We will then interrogate Seeman, based on Vijayalakshmi’s complaint,” a police officer said.
Seeman has raised his voice for the uplift of Tamils in Sri Lanka. He has also strongly criticized the Congress for not taking serious steps against the Lankan government. When TOI tried to contact Vijayalakshmi on her mobile, she refused to respond. Seeman was also out of reach. (Times of India)
