SriLankan Airlines today announced that all fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber and leafy greens have been taken off their menus on all flights out of Europe, as a precautionary measure against the E.coli outbreak currently spreading in Europe.

A release issued by the Corporate Communications Department of the airline stated that it has decided to remove all such items ‘until it is once again safe to serve raw vegetables which may carry the E.coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria’.

The airline which has flights to London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan and Rome in Europe will remove the said items from its range of menus on food uplifted from these European cities.
