UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe today alleged that government is using the EPF and ETF funds to pay off government debt. He added that the government has shamelessly robbed the people of their hard earned money.
If tomorrow one asked to government to reimburse all EPF and ETF account holders their money, the government will be unable to do so, he added. And now they are trying to make it legal for them to do it through the private sector pension scheme, Ranil said.
