Due to the double standards practiced by the present government, the country is at risk of jeopardizing significant opportunities, desired by everyone following the war victory, says UNP MP Gayantha Karunathilaka.

Speaking at a press conference held today (June 13) Gayantha, the Media Spokesman of the United National Party, claimed that because of the government’s double standards the country has had to face unfavorable conditions that crop up in the international arena.

Instead of the ‘Wonder’ promised by the government, the public is even finding it difficult to live owing to the cost of living, which keeps increasing on a daily basis, he said.

Regarding the government’s intentions of bringing forth a new pension scheme once again the Parliamentarian said, “It is the duty of the government to provide the promised pay hike wanted by the workers instead of forcing a fraudulent pension scheme.”
