Practice a diplomatic policy when dealing with the international community. Do not let anymore internal conflicts arise between Sri Lanka and India, resolve through discussion the existing issues, was UNP MP Tissa Attanayake’s request to the government.
He accused that certain statement made by some Ministers and Parliamentarians of the government in the past few days had threatened the internal affairs of the country in a grave manner.
Attanayake advised those MPs to “use their heads” before making such statement “otherwise the country could face various threats.”
The General Secretary of the United National Party speaking during a press briefing today (June 14) also requested the government to disclose the full details of the discussions held with the high-level delegation from India.
“We too have a big question as to what have they agreed to, what they haven’t agreed to and what the government is going to do.”
