UK asylum seekers to be handed to the NIB

The group of asylum seekers who have been deported from Britain will be handed over to the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) upon arrival once they have been verified as Sri Lankans, Immigration and Emigration Controller, Chulananda Perera stated.

 

Britain took a decision this week to deport 42 Tamil asylum seekers out of which British Media claimed13 were put on a flight back to Sri Lanka last evening (June 16).

 

It was also reported that one of the 13 member group had attempted to commit suicide following the decision.
