Protest against Kandy Mayor

June 22, 2011   03:40 pm

A protest was carried out today (June 22) against the Kandy Municipal Mayor as protesters claimed that he was not carrying out his duties to their satisfaction while also stating that there were many inefficiencies in his administration.

The protesters made a plea to the Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake to look into the matter while Kandy Mayor Raja Pushpakumara claimed that those who had staged the protest were not from Kandy.

He further rejected all the allegations made against him and claimed that the city’s development work was being done efficiently.
