MPs given till Sep 30 to present dev’t proposals

Each parliamentarian has been given time till September 30 in order to present the development project proposals for the relevant districts represented by them, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said.


After these proposals are approved at District Development Committee meetings funds will be allotted for them through the Ministry of Economic Development, he pointed out while addressing a District Secretaries conference at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration yesterday.


The Minister stated that he expects the assistance of the District Secretaries largely to make the country the ‘Miracle of Asia’. He also instructed them to present proposals on purchasing paddy as crops will be harvested in the coming months.
