Fire in Knuckles Range spreading further

The forest fire that erupted last night in the eastern slop of the Knuckles Range is spreading within forest reserves in Hunnasgiriya and Ududumbara areas, says the Ududumbara Police.
A spokesperson for the Ududumbara Police, who along with Forest Conservation Officers are attempting to douse the fire, stated that due to the angle of the terrain where the flames are spreading, controlling the fire has proved difficult.
