The three member committee appointed to investigate allegations against the Post Master General is scheduled to handover its report to Postal Services Minister, Jeevan Kumaratunga within the coming three weeks.

Trade unions and postal workers had accused the Post Master General (PMG), M.K.B. Dissanayake of corruption within the Postal Department and had demanded that he be removed from the post.

Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga had then decided to appoint the three member committee to investigate Mr. Dissanayake, who was stripped of all powers pending the results of the investigation.

According to the Secretary to the Ministry of Postal Services, Hemasiri Fernando the committee is currently examining the allegations and will complete the final report and hand it over to the Minister within three weeks.
