Almost 100 students hospitalized after water contamination

Close to a hundred students from Dharsalan Vidyalaya in Sammanthurai, Ampara have been hospitalized after the contamination of drinking water at the school.

 

The students fell ill and were admitted to the Sammanthurai Hospital upon consuming the water that came from the school water tanks today (July 5).

 

Hospital authorities reported that the situation regarding four of the students is serious.

 

The students had displayed symptoms including vomiting, abdominal pains and diarrhea while tests are currently being conducted on several samples of the school’s water.
