SLAF opens airstrip in Kilinochchi

Sri Lanka Air Force declared open an airstrip in former LTTE stronghold Kilinochchi today (July 19) with the landing of an Y12 aircraft a short while ago. Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama was also present at the ceremony.


The airstrip is located 7km north from the A-9 road and 1km from the Kilinochchi Defence Service Headquarters, according to the Air Force Media Unit.
