11,732 HR violations complaints, 2691 against Police –Govt.

The Government today revealed in parliament that from 2009 to-date 11,732 Human Rights violations complaints had been received. Chief Government Whip and Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Dinesh Gunawardena speaking in parliament said that out of the complaints 2691 complaints were against the Police.

 

Gunawardena said this in reply to a question raised in parliament by UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.
