Special post-election security protocol

Police Election Secretariat says that a special security protocol will be put into operation during the post-election time period and will be affective in the coming 7 days. Head of the Secretariat, Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne urged the public to celebrate the election results in a peaceful manner.


He also revealed that a total of 144 individuals and 35 vehicles have been taken into police custody in relation to incidents of election violence and violations of election laws which had occurred on the day of the polls and previously.
