Micromax reaches one year milestone in SL

Micromax Informatics Limited (“Micromax”), one of the leading handset manufacturers today announced the successful completion of one year of their operations in Sri Lanka, with plans to bring a range of even more innovative products in the market. In the past one year, Micromax has been able to create a distinctive space in the mobile handset industry and has catered to the changing demands of the youth by bringing trend-setting products in the market.

 

Since its inception in Sri Lanka, Micromax has introduced an array of innovative products ranging from feature rich phones like the X2i+, X395, QWERTY phones like Q5 and Q55, to Android based phone like Android A60. Through these products, the company has created categories as per the consumer needs such as: long battery life, QWERTY phones, Dual SIM phones, Music phones, Ladies centric phone and the latest range of Android phones.

 

In terms of operations, Micromax has moved rapidly through retail expansion. In the beginning, the company had about 700- 800 retailers selling Micromax phones, which has now increased to about 1250 - 1500 retailers spread across the country. They also have 3 brand shops and 54 service centers with 8 level 3 centers spread across the islands.

 

Present on the occasion Mr. Vikas Jain, Business Director, Micromax Informatics Limitedsaid, “We started with simple steps like identifying the target audience first, understanding their needs in terms of mobility device and then building a strategy for our products. Our target audience, the youth and young at heart want innovative devices and want to be connected on the go. We are committed to bring innovative mobility devices striving to cater to the ever changing needs of today’s youth.”

 

He further added, “As we complete one year of operations in Sri Lanka, I would like to congratulate our country partner, Infinity Lanka Holdings and all our other channel partners who have contributed to the growth of the company in the market and have partnered us in more than one ways.”

 

Micromax is not only known for its innovative products, but also for their innovative marketing strategies. The company has plans of becoming the market leader in Sri Lanka in the near future.
