MARKSS Healthcare supports Sri Lanka College of Urological Surgeons to develop skillset of future medical professionals

MARKSS Healthcare (MARKSS HLC) one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka, under its flagship sustainability initiative, ‘Markss Wellness Campaign’, conducted a skill development session for the Sri Lanka College of Urological Surgeons recently. The session focused on the topic “surgical skills management of a damaged urethra” and was targeted at budding surgeons and trainees.


Trainees were given the opportunity to learn and practice best techniques one-on-one with an elite panel of experts including Professor Neville Perera, Professor Srinath Chandrasekera, Dr. K.L. Fernando and Dr. Ajith Malalasekera.


Professor Neville Perera in his opening remarks mentioned that, Sri Lanka requires more hands on skills training programmes in this caliber.


Dr. S Mahakalanda - Director Medical - Markss HLC said, “We consider it a privilege to play an integral part in this valuable knowledge sharing session which enriches future surgeons in the country. MARKSS have supported the course form the beginning and we will continue to develop high skill levels in the healthcare industry of Sri Lanka.”


Professor Srinath Chandrasekera extended his gratitude towards MARKSS for its continuous support through the programme. He also commented on the value of this programme to the trainees as a highly respected course accredited by the Royal College of Urological Surgeons UK. He further acknowledged the efforts of Professor Peter Thompson, the designer of the course.
