Lankan sentenced for illegally entering India

A Sri Lankan youth who had been arrested last year for illegally entering Indian territory after committing a murder in the island nation was sentenced to imprisonment of one year today, Rameswaram Police said.
Kamar Soyso, who is in his twenties, was sentenced under the Passports Act, they said, adding he had confessed he had illegally entered India through Rameswaram after committing a murder in Sri Lanka, reported PTI.
As he had already spent around one year in jail, he will be sent to the Special Refugees Camp once he completes his term shortly, police said.
