Tense situation in Batti, police fire teargas

Police have used teargas to disperse crowds after a tense situation erupted in Urani area in Batticaloa. Mobs had set fire to tires after a ‘Grease Devil’ attacked a girl who was at her house alone, the Ada Derana Correspondent stated.
Police and Army have been deployed to control the situation.
