All the private buses operating from Gampaha to Colombo will halt their operations in protest of an incident involving the Western Province Passenger Transport Authority issuing a route permit irresponsibly, Private Bus Owners Association President Gemunu Wijeyrathna stated.

He told Ada Derana that bus operators on other routes also hope to join the protest while Piyasena Dissanayake, Chairman of the WPPTA stated that he had not been informed about the strike as yet.
