Govt. did not use emergency laws to censor media - President

Certain media channels through their criticisms posed problems during the war but the government did not use the emergency regulations to curb or to censor the media, President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated while addressing Parliament a short while ago.

He added that the emergency laws were essential in controlling terrorism in the country.
