EC, party secretaries to meet Sep 1

The Commissioners of Elections and the Secretaries of political parties are scheduled to gather on September 01 for a special discussion regarding the forthcoming election for 23 Local Government bodies.
This will be the first occasion where the Commissioner and secretaries of 25 political parties that have handed over nominations, will meet in relation to the coming election while the elections Commissioner is to brief them on the election, a spokesperson for the Election Secretariat said.
Meanwhile the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) has requested the candidates contesting in the LG election to submit their asset statements before or after the election is held.
