Herath and Mendis left out of Lankan squad due to injury

Ajantha Mendis and Rangana Herath were left out of the Sri Lankan squad due to injury ahead of the second Test match between Australia which began a shot while ago at the Pallakele Stadium in Kandy.

 

In a statement made earlier today (September 8) by Sri Lanka Cricket, it was revealed that Mendis was nursing a back injury while Herath had sustained a finger injury during practices yesterday.

 

Seekuge Prasanna made his Test debut today while the SLC stated that the National Selectors will monitor the injuries and keep the public informed of further developments.

 

Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandimal will play instead of Lahiru Thirimana who is recovering from a minor ailment.
