Police catch 40 drivers for traffic offences in one day

Four drivers were arrested by the police for driving under the influence of alcohol while 40 others were caught for various other traffic offenses yesterday alone (September 8) in the Welimada area.

 

The offenses included not possessing valid licenses, broken side mirrors, faulty brakes and broken signals while legal action will be taken against the drivers.

 

The four persons arrested for drinking and driving will be presented to the Welimada Magistrates court, police stated.
