The police and army are currently conducting separate investigations regarding the suicide of a soldier in the Puttalam army camp, Military Spokesman Brigadier Nihal Hapuarachchi said.
The army soldier in question, a resident of Nikaweratiya, had reportedly shot himself last night (Sep. 29) using his own firearm.
Puttalam Additional District Judge had inspected the crime scene yesterday night.
